Republic Act No. 9482: Anti-Rabies Act of 2007
Republic Act 9482, also known as the Anti-Rabies Act of 2007, was created to keep both pets and people safe from rabies. It sets guidelines for responsible pet ownership, mandatory vaccination of dogs, proper management of stray animals, and public education on rabies prevention.
WHAT IS RABIES?
Rabies is a deadly but preventable disease caused by a virus that affects the brain and nervous system. It can spread to humans and animals through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, usually dogs. The good news is that rabies is 100% preventable with timely vaccination and responsible pet care.
